Rope skipping competition to be held at CityONE Megamall
KUCHING: Dyslexia Association o f S a r awa k ( DASwk) in col laboration with Wel fare Department, state Education Depa r tment and Ci tyOne Megamall, will be organising a Rope Skipping competition for children and young adults with disabilities on July 13.
The competition to be held at the megamall will run from 9.30am to 3pm.
According to a press release, students from special schools and integrated special education programmes as well as childrenand young adults in disability-related non-governmental organizations ( NGOs) and Community- Based Rehabilitation Centre ( PDK) and their teachers or care providers are invited to participate in the competition.
This annual competition is in its eighth year and has gained a following since its inception in 2012. Rope skipping is a healthy physical activity that has been shown to improve body coordination, balance, flexibility, endurance and agility.
The competition aims to provide a platform for young people with disabilities to demonstrate their prowess, talent and creativity in rope skipping. It also helps to motivate young people to strive hard in order to achieve a target.
Participants will be divided according to the type of disabilities and age group.
