MPPK encourages innovation in village development — MP

-

MIRI: The Village Community Management Council ( MPKK) serves not only as ‘an ambassador for harmony and safety’, but also to cultivate and encourage innovation for the development of villages.

In stating this, Lubok Antu MP Jugah Muyang says the innovation covers various forms such as in terms of new village sources, or solutions to problems affecting the community.

The parliamentarian said this in his speech at the launch of MPKK Rumah Ngilah Bara in Lubok Antu recently, where Lubok Antu district education officer Jim Andrew Janggi, and Kuching Fire and Rescue Department officer Gemong Batu were among those present.

“We hope the MPKK of Rumah Ngilah Bara could come together and help carry out the tasks entrusted to them.

“Apart from that, we always welcome new ideas to strengthen the government’s administration, in view of the MPKK being the closest to the people,” said Jugah.

In his address to the local community leaders, the MP hoped that they would continue rendering full support towards realising the agenda and development policies outlined by the Pakatan Harapan ( PH)-led federal government.

“The key role of the community leaders is to become the bridge between the people and the government, and this is essential so that all developments can be implemented smoothly.

“Community leaders should also act as the mediators; be the government’s eyes and ears.

“They ought to disseminate information about government policies to the grassroots,” he pointed out.

Later, Jugah announced a government grant totalling RM500,000 meant for 12 longhouses around Lubok Antu, of which the representatives attended the event at Rumah Ngilah Bara.
