Alia to hold inaugural fashion trunk show in collaboration with MUD House

KUCHING: Alia Bastamam, Malaysia’s leading fashion designer, in collaboration with MUD House is having an inaugural trunk show preview for the Raya 2019 Collection here this Saturday (April 27).

Also joining the line- up is her Resort collection and Gardens of Babylon. The Alia Bastamam woman explores her individualistic sense of style through another Raya collection – she’s like a wildflower bursting spectacularly to the stars.

“When this story idea came up, it was perfect for my design philosophy – designing for all women,” Alia said in a press release.

“I created a collection that begins subtly and as the collection progresses, so do the designs. I understand my clientele because I have days when I want to dress simple and other days when I want to be a little more extravagant – and I hope that is what this collection offers.”

The culmination of design and fashion sensory experience witnessed the gathering of Kuching’s discerning fashion enthusiasts.

Reigning Miss World Malaysia 2018, Larissa Ping, modelled for the event. Supported by Style Series, a series of events created by a team to share fashion concepts and empower emerging new fashion talents in the region – MUD House prides its on collaborative efforts in infusing fashion, art and design in its partnerships.

Host of the highly- anticipated fashion event, MUD House managing director Amalina Arip said: “For me, design can be translated through many different modalities either fashion, interior and even furniture. It is all about creative self- expression through exploring historical references and personal narratives in the creative outlet of your choice.

“Collaborating with Alia is an honour as she understands the art of storytelling with her medium that is fashion. The trunk show will be a complete lifestyle experience.”
