25 organisati­ons receive grants totalling RM197,100

KAPIT: A total of 25 organisati­ons here received minor rural project grants totalling RM197,100 on Tuesday.

Bukit Goram assemblyma­n Jefferson Jamit Unyat presented the grants to the SK Nanga Mujong parent-teacher associatio­n; Kapit Genturung Sepayan Sports and Recreation Club; Surau Nur Aiman; Kapit Kwang Tung Associatio­n; Kapit Chiang Hsia Huang Clan Associatio­n; Lions Club of Kapit; Lions Club of Song; Kapit Stallholde­rs Associatio­n; Kapit Coffee Shop and Restaurant Owners Associatio­n; Senior Citizens Service Centre; and the village security and developmen­t committees of Tatai Panglima Sungai Kapit, Nanga Sebaru, Sungai Tisa Yong, Nanga Sepayang Yong, Sepayang Yong, Nanga Tisa Yong, Nanga Sema, Nanga Engkatit Yong, Nanga Tulie Atas, Nanga Wai Batang Rajang, Nanga Selidong Batang Rajang, Nanga Dia Kapit, and Rumah Baja Kapit.

“MRP grants are for you to carry out social activities for the participat­ion of the members. When you write in to request for assistance, I considered and approved the grants.

“Since this is government money, it is a requiremen­t that you carry out the activities submitted in your request and at the same time you are required to file a report for official records,” he said.

Jamit also thanked Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for approving various projects during his recent official visit here.

The projects are an alternativ­e road from the Bletih State Complex to Jalan Airport, upgrading Jalan Ulu Sungai Selirik to the Baleh Bridge from R3 to R5 standard, and Tunoh Airport.
