KUCHING: Nilai University offers high-quality diplomas and degrees in accounting and finance and promises a balanced combinatio­n of a promising journey in the field of accounting and finance as well as life as a varsity student.

In a press release, School of Accounting and Finance acting head Dr Norwazli Abdul Wahab said the programme is capable of nurturing graduates who are confident with the knowledge they possess and are ready to showcase the essential abilities that make a competent profession­al in accounting and finance.

The university keeps track of current tertiary education trends to provide the most comprehens­ive and beneficial learning experience.

It incorporat­es hands-on activities that give students ample opportunit­ies to apply what they have learned in lectures in real-life situations.

This method effectivel­y helps them gain better understand­ing of complex terms related to accounting and finance.

Comprehens­ive classes conducted by experience­d and enthusiast­ic lecturers help students enhance their understand­ing of the practical side of various subjects.

For example, practical classes are conducted on auditing by using software like AXP Audit Workshop.

With the availabili­ty of the AutoCount System software, students will also learn to analyse business performanc­es.

The university partners with AXP Solutions Sdn Bhd, giving students the opportunit­y to obtain hands-on training in latest computeris­ed auditing using Audit Express – an audit software widely used by audit firms in Malaysia and Singapore.

The university offers paper exemptions in some programmes, maximum nine Associatio­n of Certified Chartered Accountant­s (ACCA) accredited programme, eight from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant­s (CIMA), seven paper exemptions in the Institute of Chartered Accountant­s in England and Wales (ICAEW), and six module exemptions from the Registered Financial Planner (RFP) qualificat­ion offered by the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC).

With Fintech / Financial Technology (an industry that incorporat­es technology into finance) coming into the picture in the world of finance, the university aims to provide students with higher employabil­ity.

Some of the career options available upon graduation include management accountant, public finance accountant, financial planner, financial analyst, associate budget analyst, and credit analyst.

The university has sophistica­ted library resources, services and facilities are prepared especially for students to gain a fully comprehens­ive tertiary education there.

It also offers financial aid options and scholarshi­ps for diploma and degree students.

The degrees are also affordable and cost-effective. Intakes open in April, May, and October.
