Meritz Hotel Miri hosts ‘breaking of fast’ event for 40 SMK Agama Miri guests

MIRI: Thirty-one students and nine teachers from SMK Agama Miri were treated to a hearty ‘Buka Puasa’ buffet dinner at the Grand Old Lady Restaurant of Meritz Hotel Miri on Friday as part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibi­lity (CSR) programme.

“We are happy that they were having a good time with us, and that we pride ourselves through this CSR programme in reaching out to different groups of people in the society,” Meritz Hotel’s general manager John Teo said.

Teo added that the hotel has arranged to have another CSR project distributi­ng ‘Bubur Lambuk’ on May 17 at the hotel lobby to hotel guests and members of the public.

“It is with little gesture like this we hope to channel love and care to the society during the holy month of Ramadan,” he said.

Meanwhile, the buffet which is now available at Grand Old Lady Restaurant from now until June 1, features dishes such as Kambing Kicap Serai Halia, Daging Assam Jawa, Nasi Ouzi Kambing, Ikan Pejari Nanas, Curry Tempoyak, Ikan Masak Lemak Cili Api, Ayam Percik Bakar, Daging Hitam Manis and many more.

Apart from the main dishes, there are also food corners that offer appetisers, live cooking stall, desserts, dome station, soup and seafood on ice.

On Fridays and Saturdays, juicy lamb carcass and fragrant Arabic rice is part of the special menu offered to guests.

“To keep things fresh, the menu is rotated everyday so patrons can anticipate new surprises on their every visit,” explained assistant public relations manager, Joanne Law.

Currently, a 10+1 promotion is now available throughout the course of buffet with every 10 paid customers per bill, the 11th person gets to eat for free.

The buffet is priced at RM58 nett per adult, RM29 nett per child on Sundays to Thursdays and RM68 nett per adult and RM34 nett per child on Fridays and Saturdays.
