-

SUBANG JAYA: Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) is currently in search for digitally-savvy and innovative young Malaysians who want to be a part of its one-of-a-kind management trainee programme.

In its fourth year, Digi CXO Apprentice programme is part of Digi’s commitment and ambition to build on the leadership pipeline for young talents in the country.

This year, eight more selected apprentices would be paired with Digi’s chief officers (CXO) as their mentors, giving them the chance to experience first-hand exposure to high-level decision making and dealings with real business challenges.

Under the guidance of their respective CXO mentors, the Apprentices will have the opportunity to work on high-impact projects across different business areas within the organisation. This would challenge them to understand Digi’s strategy and purpose before executing with the freedom to innovate, explore new ideas, and learn every day.

“Besides CXO mentorship, the programme will expose the apprentices to an explorative, agile way of working from the onstart of their career.

“I am happy to highlight that the exposure and experience sought throughout 12-month as an apprentice have helped to fasttrack their career development.

“Many of our apprentices from the previous three batches have gone to make waves within the organisation by championing new ways of work, driving automation and improving processes in the workplace,” said Digi’s chief Human Resource officer, Elisabeth Melander Stene, in a press statement.

Nine months the apprenticeship, Emir Kamaruzzaman Elias (Year 3 Apprentice to chief finance officer) said, “The programme gave me a high-level overview of the business, as well as the opportunity to work on various projects across the organisation, which is instrumental to my growth and development. This definitely differentiates me from my peers as I am continuously pushing myself out of my comfort zone, all while learning from an experienced mentor.”

Digi’s Year 4 CXO Apprentice Programme kicked off recently and at the event, a panel session was held with key leaders in Digi on navigating the workforce.

“Not only do we need a young workforce, but we also need a diverse pool of talent to reflect our wide customer base. For the past three years, most of our apprentices are graduates from Business Schools, majoring in Economics, Marketing, Business and Finance but we also have those who majored in Engineering, Biology and even Food Science. We hope to recruit more apprentices from different backgrounds, who aspire to learn fast, work lean, and take on the challenge,” said into Elisabeth at the event.

Digi’s CXO Apprentice Programme will have a young talent tagged to one of the eight Digi Chiefs ( CXOs): chief executive officer, chief finance officer, chief marketing officer, chief technology officer, chief corporate affairs officer, chief hr officer, chief business officer and chief digital officer.
