Naim’s ‘The Peak’ set to be tallest building in Borneo
With great teamwork and hard work, we persevered. I cannot stress enough the importance of coordination for a project of this magnitude. Joseph Sim
KUCHING: Naim Group of Companies’ flagship development, the Bintulu Paragon, boasts not only the largest integrated development in Bintulu, but also the tallest building in Borneo.
The soon-to-be completed, 34-storey ‘The Peak’, is set to ‘dominate the skyline of the industrial town’.
“Providing a plethora of lifestyle facilities as well as a multi-tiered security system to its residents, Naim ‘ The Peak’ offers a new level of luxury and peace of mind for the Bintulu community,” Naim said in a statement yesterday.
Naim ‘The Peak’ was also a Merit Award Winner in the ‘Borneo Star Development’ category of the coveted ‘Star Property.my Awards 2019’.
Joseph Sim of AJ Architects said that he was driven by Naim’s aspiration to create a landmark in Bintulu, by applying functional features of typical tropical housing to create indooroutdoor spaces stacked vertically into the sky.
The architect was also involved in Kidurong Setia Township in Bintulu, multiple industrial developments in Samalaju and Riverbank Suites in Kuching – amongst other projects, while the firm was an integral player in developing the masterplan for Kota Samarahan New Township.
“Getting the nitty-gritty details right was no easy feat for a building this size. One of our challenges was to maintain abundant ventilation and natural lighting, while keeping to the overall development concept,” said Sim.
He said to maintain the quality of construction, the industrial building system (IBS) was adopted, requiring all parties to work together from design stage to completion.
“With great teamwork and hard work, we persevered. I cannot stress enough the importance of coordination for a project of this magnitude.
“I must commend the professionalism and dedication of Naim’s team on this project, which I feel is second to none. We are indeed honoured to be the lead architect of this prestigious award-winning project,” added Sim.
