PKR Bukit Kota to organise 4 events this year — Secretary
MIRI: PKR Bukit Kota will be organising four programmes this year to gain support for the party’s struggles and reach out to the community here.
Its secretary Abdullah Kassim, who is the programme coordinator, said the programmes will involve members.
“We are preparing the four big programmes and bringing PKR top leadership to Limbang to be with the people here,” Abdullah told The Borneo Post recently.
Present were PKR Limbang chairman Dr Lau Liak Koi and PKR Bukit Kota chairman Rosli Amat
According to Abdullah, the first programme is on ‘Buku Hijau’ to be jointly held with Sarawak Bumiputera Contractors and Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) which will be held in March in
Limbang.
President of Persatuan Kontraktor Bumiputera Malaysia (PKBM), Datuk Azman Yusoff, will be present.
He said all Bumiputera contractors in Limbang and Lawas are welcome to participate in the programme.
The second activity will be a gathering of Federal Village Community Management Councils (MPKKPs) from Bukit Kota constituency and PKR Bukit Kota women wing in June.
He said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is expected to attend the event.
“Many MPKKP and women members will be present during the gathering to show that PKR has the support of the rakyat in Limbang,” he added.
The third activity, he disclosed, is the PKR Bukit Kota youth and PKR sub-branches gathering in August.
The event, he added, is expected to be attended by PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and PKR members will have the chance to meet their top leader to bring up their ideas and concerns.
The last activity, he said, is the Hari Raya gathering involving Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia ( YaPEIM) and PKR Bukit Kota during which less fortunate Muslims will be given assistance to help ease their burden during the celebration.
During the meeting, PKR Limbang also briefed PKR Bukit Kota members on PKR’s struggle and its vision and mission in Limbang.
PKR Bukit Kota currently has about 1,000 members.
