KUCHING: Non-Malaysians who have been in the country for at least 30 days are now allowed to enter Sarawak without having to be quarantined, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Commi ee ( SDMC) chairman said however that they must first submit an application at least 12 hours prior to entering the state, via the commi ee’s website h ps://sarawakdisastermc.com/.

“Foreigners who have been in Malaysia for at least 30 consecutive days are now allowed to enter Sarawak without having to undergo quarantine.

“They however must apply with SDMC through its website first,” he said during SDMC’s daily press conference on the state’s Covid-19 situation, here yesterday.

The decision comes following an announcement by state Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin on Tuesday, that the state had approved more flights into Sarawak to stimulate domestic economic growth, especially in the state’s tourism sector.

This move was also to facilitate movement of goods and people for business, official and personal reasons, Lee said, adding a total of 331 weekly scheduled flights had been approved between this month and August.
