ISarawak Care to boost welfare aid delivery — Fatimah
MIRI: The iSarawak Care digital platform, which will undergo a trial run tomorrow, is expected to enhance the state government’s delivery of social and welfare services to the people, said Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah.
The Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister said the trial run would cover applications for Post Natal Care Assistance (BIB) and Endowment Fund Sarawak (EFS).
Fatimah said currently, applications are made through conventional paperwork but with the latest digital initiative, there would be less hassle for the people and the efficiency of government service delivery would be improved.
“All assistance provided by the government, which are channelled through my ministry, must be able to reach the targeted people fast,” she told reporters after presenting welfare aid at the Miri Islamic Complex today.
Fatimah said iSarawak Care would serve as the ministry’s one-stop centre to speed up welfare assistance application process and delivery.
“We will further consolidate the digital initiative with other assistance provided under the ministry,” she said.
At the function, Fatimah presented EFS, BIB, Special Annual Grant (GTK), Kenyalang Gold Card ( KGC), Death Compassionate Assistance ( BIK), special aid for a dialysis patient, and grants for nongovernmental organisations to 20 beneficiaries.
