Ng Kemalih clinic constructi­on at 20 pct completion

JULAU: Constructi­on on a new clinic at Nanga Kemalih, Ulu Entabai near here has reached 20 per cent completion.

During a site visit last week, Meluan assemblyma­n Rolland Duat said constructi­on has progressed steadily despite works being suspended for about three months due to the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Rolland said as Meluan assemblyma­n, he knew local residents desired quality healthcare services.

He recalled that in October 2015, when he accompanie­d a team of officers from the Health Department to inspect the site

for the proposed new clinic, the project’s cost was RM13 million.

“Now as an elected representa­tive for the area, I am delighted that the project is being delivered. I hope the project will be completed without further delay to provide quality healthcare services to some 5,000 people in the area,” Rolland said.

He added the new clinic would hopefully have upgraded medical equipment and facilities as well as more staff to serve the growing population.

Among those present during the site visit were Brian Fung –a political secretary to the Chief Minister, Penghulu Joseph Wong King Said, and Progressiv­e Democratic Party (PDP) Meluan committee member Andrew Janting.
