MASwings offers ‘Rediscover Borneo’ promotion

KUCHING: In support of Tourism Malaysia’s effort to boost and increase growth in domestic tourism during this Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period, MASwings is offering ‘ Rediscover Borneo’ promotion.

This is an all-in one-way for RM170 (terms and conditions apply) on selected ATR routes. The promotion is up for grabs from now until July 31. The travel period is from now until August 31.

MASwings ‘ Rediscover Borneo’ fares are inclusive of airport taxes, Carrier Imposed Fee (CIF) and subject to MASwings’ terms and conditions. A 20-kilogram of check-in baggage allowance and light refreshment on board is also included as a part of the airline’s continuous effort to offer comfort and Malaysian Hospitality during flights.

MASwings entered its second phase of the planned reinstatement of its reduced frequencies and temporary suspended flights effective Wednesday to gradually meet the normal schedule as per the Public Service Obligation (PSO) Agreement by end October this year.

In a statement it explained that it reduced its flight frequencies and suspended some of its rural operations following the nationwide Movement Control Order imposed since March 18 due to Covid-19 pandemic.

“Since the RMCO in Malaysia took effect on June 10, most major travel restrictions have been li ed with conditions and exceptions imposed by respective states authorities and this allows airlines including MASwings to re-visit its operations to meet passengers’ travel requirement,” it said.

MASwings is now operating up to 59 per cent and 81 per cent from its normal flight pa erns on ATR72-500 and Viking DHC6 Twin O er.

Although the interstate travel is given leniency and much encouraged for domestic tourism, the country’s borders are still closed; hence MASwings flight from Tawau to Tarakan vice versa is still suspended until further notice.

MASwings said that at par with its sister airlines Malaysia Airlines and Firefly it maintains all of other health and safety measures such as the enforcement of wearing masks on all passengers and crew, temperature checks, sanitisation and disinfection of all aircra and facilities as well as enforcement of social distancing during queues to keep passengers safe and in best of health.
