Ting happy with preparations for reopening of schools
MIRI: Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting is happy and grateful with the efforts made by schools here in ensuring all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place, before welcoming all students back for classroom lesson.
When inspecting Kolej Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang and SMK Chung Hua Miri yesterday, Ting noted that compliance with the SOPs was satisfactory, thanks to the extra effort made by teachers and administration staff.

effort of preparing places for hand washing with soap for students as a way of encouraging them to make it a habit to wash hands.
“Of course, the support and trust given by parents in allowing their children return to school made it all possible too,” Ting told reporters.
Earlier, the Piasau assemblyman handed over hand sanitisers, face masks and thermometers to several schools in Miri – the hand sanitisers and thermometers were donations from kind members of the public and the face masks were a personal donation from Ting.
With Form 1 to Form 4 students allowed to return to school beginning July 15, Ting said preparations are vitally important and that it takes the cooperation from everyone to break the chain of infection of Covid-19.
He said he had yet to check on primary schools, and that he would make arrangement for it.
With him at SMK Chung Hua Miri were Penghulu Leonard Fong and principal Albert Ong Ngee Hong.
