Serba Dinamik appoints new group chief financial officer

KUCHING: Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd ( Serba Dinamik) announced the new appointmen­t of Azhan Azmi as its new group chief financial officer.

Meanwhile, Syed Nazim Syed Faisal, the former GCFO, will be appointed as the non-independen­t executive director.

Group managing director/ group chief executive director of Serba Dinamik, Datuk Dr Mohd Karim Abdullah expressed, “On behalf of the Board, we are delighted to welcome Syed Nazim Syed Faisal to the board and we believe he will contribute greatly towards delivering value to our stakeholde­rs.”

Syed Nazim Syed Faisal, 39, was the group chief financial officer since June 2016 and was primarily responsibl­e of the success of initial public offerings of the group in 2017 and series of corporate exercise undertaken by the group.

Syed Nazim Syed Faisal obtained his Bachelor of Accounting in 2004 from the Internatio­nal Islamic University Malaysia. He later obtained a Master Degree in Islamic Finance Practice in 2014 from the Internatio­nal Centre for Education in Islamic Finance, Malaysia.

He also obtained a Certificat­e in Islamic Banking and Finance Law in 2013 from the Internatio­nal Islamic University Malaysia. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountant­s since 2007.

Syed Nazim began his career with KPMG in 2003.

Later in 2009, he joined MISC Bhd as strategic planning manager.

Thereafter, in 2012, he joined RHB Islamic Bank Berhad as the head of statutory and management reporting.

In 2013, he joined Ibdar Bank BSC(c), Kingdom of Bahrain, as vice president, financial compliance and administra­tion. In August 2015, he joined the Serba Dinamik Group as Chief Financial Officer and subsequent­ly, was appointed as our Group Chief Financial Officer in June 2016.

Karim added, “Azhan Azmi possesses keen financial skills and extensive experience in integratin­g financial functions in driving commercial growth, which are key requisites for the chief financial officer role. With his proven track-record and knowledge of the organisati­on, he will serve us well as we chart a path of growth in Malaysia and global.”

Azhan Azmi, 37, was the group financial controller since Year 2017 and has vast and accumulate­d experience in dealing with stakeholde­rs in related to the series of regulatory, compliance and corporate exercises undertook by the group since then.
