Hajiji takes oath as assemblyman
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor took his oath of office as Sulaman assemblyman before the Sabah State Assembly Speaker Datuk Kadzim M Yahya here yesterday.
The swearing-in ceremony for Hajiji was held yesterday because he could not join other newlyelected Sabah assemblymen in taking their oath of office on Oct 9 as he was under a two-week quarantine at home after being in close contact with a Covid-19 patient.
Also taking their oath yesterday were Sulabayan assemblyman Datuk Jaujan
Sambakong and two nominated assemblymen – Datuk Yong Teck Lee and Datuk Amisah Yassin.
Bugaya assemblyman Manis Buka Mohd Darah, however, could not be sworn in yesterday as she was still under quarantine at the hospital.
At the ceremony on Oct 9, a total of 70 elected assemblymen and four nominated assemblymen took their oath of office.
The Sabah State Assembly has 73 assemblymen who were elected in the state election on Sept 26 and six nominated members. — Bernama
