PKR ready to work with politicians fighting against graft, abuse of power — Anwar Ibrahim

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is ready to work with any politician who wants a system free of corruption and abuse of power, its president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

He said the party would continue to champion the ‘reformasi’ agenda based on the principles of justice and wellbeing for all Malaysians.

“As for Budget 2021, it has to include the efforts and roles of both parties (government and opposition) in planning firm strategies to address the Covid-19 pandemic, unemployment and poverty,” Anwar said in a statement yesterday.

In addition, he said the Malay Rulers’ reminder and emphasis on the principles of justice and against abuse of power must not be taken lightly and instead should be supported by all those who have the awareness to reject destruction.

Anwar said any efforts to restore the people’s mandate must be centred on defending the dignity of the nation and its people without compromising on the principles of struggle and idealism.

“I take note of the country’s political developments of late. I am thankful for the concern shown by the Malay Rulers in defending the supremacy of the Constitution,” he said. — Bernama
