“We cannot rely solely on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg or the members of the Cabinet (to govern the state with integrity), all must also play their part.
“This includes the district officers, Divisional Residents, Temenggong, Pemanca, Penghulu as well as leaders of non-governmental organisations (NGOs),” Talib said when officiating at the ‘Jelajah Integriti: Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat’ programme at Kampung Bratan, Padawan here on Monday.

He added that former Chief Minister the late Pehin Sri Adenan Satem started the commitment to integrity among the leaders in 2015 by initiating the integrity pledge in 2015 and Sarawak was the first state in Malaysia to sign the integrity pledge that year.
“It was continued by Abang Johari and he invited us (state cabinet leaders) to sign the corruption-free pledges, just two weeks a er he was appointed as Chief Minister. In fact, we were also the first state cabinet ministers to take the step.
“I am confident that with honest and truthful leaders, Sarawak will be governed well,” he added.
Meanwhile, Assistant Minister of Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil reminded community leaders to monitor activities and projects conducted in their respective areas.
“If you suspect that the project is being done slowly or not in accordance with the specifications, it is your responsibility to report the ma er to the relevant agencies.
