Dialysis centre in Kuching receives PPE donated by Bintulu Port Holdings
BINTULU: Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd (BPHB) remains committed to supporting healthcare centres throughout Sarawak.
On Monday, the group presented personal protective equipment ( PPE) to the National Kidney Foundation ( NKF)Kidney Association of Sarawak/ Rotary Dialysis Centre in Kuching.
The BPHB, in a statement, said this effort was in line with the Health Ministry’s call encouraging various parties to donate PPE to the healthcare frontliners, in view of the current Covid-19 situation.
BPHB group corporate services head Maslihah Tioh represented group chief executive officer Dato Mohammad Medan Abdullah in handing over the donated PPE to dialysis centre manager Reylene Ursula Dietar.
In her remarks, Maslihah extended the organisation’s gratitude to the healthcare frontliners for their relentless efforts in the fight against the Covid-19.
“We understand that until the end of the pandemic battle, the PPE would be a constant necessity and as a responsible corporate citizen, we must and will do all that we can to protect our nation’s heroes over the
course of our fight against this deadly virus,” she said.
The donated PPE comprised 350 pieces of isolation gowns, 350 pieces isolation aprons with thumb’s hooks, 1,000 pieces of nurse caps, 100 pieces of head scarves, 300 face shields, 100
boxes of three-ply surgical face masks (with ear loops), and 200 boxes of latex gloves.
Reylene, on behalf of Sarawak Kidney Association, expressed her appreciation to the BPHB for its continuous support and concern for the diverse needs of
local organisations in Sarawak.
In June this year, BPHB also contributed a total of 2,000 PPE sets worth RM200,000 to four major hospitals in Sarawak – Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching, Bintulu Hospital, Miri Hospital, and Sibu Hospital.
