MCC’s first half assessment rates due

-

MIRI: Ratepayers here need to pay their assessment rates for the first half of the year by Saturday (Oct 31).

Payment can be done at Miri City Council’s ( MCC) payment counter and Sarawak government agencies payment counter at UTC Miri.

The counter is open from 8am to 5pm daily.

Ratepayers can also use the Sarawak Pay app or register for Paybills for online transactions.

Ratepayers who have yet to receive their bills or have misplaced them can obtain a copy from the payment counter.

The deadline for assessment rates for the first half of the year was extended to Oct 31 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and Movement Control Order ( MCO).

Ratepayers for residential holdings with annual rates of RM400 and above get a 25 per cent discount as part of the Sarawakku Sayang Assistance Package ( BKSS) announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in May.

The special discount also applies to commercial, industrial, and special purpose properties, as well as vacant land.

A total of 30,313 rateable properties under MCC’s jurisdiction will receive the assessment rates discount.
