Counters open for payment of first half assessment rate on Oct 31 due date — MPP

KUCHING: The due date for payment of the first half year 2020 assessment rate is October 31, reminded Padawan Municipal Council ( MPP) in a statement yesterday.

“Since October 31 is a Saturday, the counters at the Padawan Municipal Council in Kota Padawan will open from 8am to 4pm, including lunch hour.

“The Padawan Municipal Council’s counters are open daily on working days from Monday to Friday to assist property owners who wish to pay their assessment rates.

The counters will operate from 8am until 3.30pm including lunch hour,” it said.

Payment of assessment rate bills can also be made at Service Sarawak Counters (UTC), Kuching North City Hall (DBKU), Kuching South City Council (MBKS), Sesco, Kuching Water Board (KWB), Pos Malaysia Bhd and H&L Supermarke­t outlets.

Ratepayers can also pay online by accessing https://www. paybills.sarawak.gov.my.

The latest mode of online payment is using Sarawak Pay where the ratepayer with internet banking can scan the QR Code printed on the assessment rate bill and pay.

Ratepayers who are unsure of the amount of assessment rates they need to pay for the first half of 2020 or have not received their assessment rate bills or have misplaced their assessment rate bills are requested to contact or go to Padawan Municipal Council at Kota Padawan, Kuching.

Copy bills can be printed at UTC Kuching.

A surcharge of one per cent per month or part thereof will be levied if payment of rates is made after Oct 31.
