SDMC: CMCO extended for another two weeks

KUCHING: The State Disaster Management Commi ee (SDMC) has extended the conditiona­l movement control order (CMCO) in Sarawak for another two weeks.

In its daily update yesterday, the commi ee said the extension order would take effect from 12.01am March 1 until 11.59pm March 15.

“This was decided upon a er we have assessed the situation in Sarawak that the number of positive Covid-19 cases is increasing,” the statement said.

Separately, SDMC also imposed enhanced movement control order (EMCO) at Sentosa Rese lement Scheme Phase 2 in Sibu, effective 12.01am today (Feb 27) until 11.59pm March 12.

This was decided a er the SDMC has made a risk assessment on the number of positive Covid-19 cases in the cluster.

Meanwhile, SDMC said the number of clusters as of yesterday was 26.

They are the Jalan Ho Pin Cluster in Samarahan, Jalan Muhibbah Cluster in Betong, Emperoh Jambu Cluster in Kuching, Sungai Bakong Cluster in Meradong, Jalan Green Cluster in Kuching, Kejatau Cluster in Sri Aman, Geronggang Cluster in Sibu, Mas Merah Cluster in Sibu, Univista Cluster in Samarahan, Kampung Sungai Maong Cluster in Kuching, Gelong Cluster in Kapit, Kidurong Dua Cluster in Bintulu, Nanga Lijan Cluster in Julau, Seruas Cluster in Beluru, Sebangkoi Cluster in Sri Aman, Jun Heng Cluster in Bintulu, Bintang Daily Cluster in Meradong, Jalan Pengiran Cluster in Matu, Tabong Cluster in Bau, Indah Riang Cluster in Kuching, Bedayan Cluster in Serian, Rakut Cluster in Miri, Bukit Sekubong Cluster in Sebauh, Jelita Cluster in Miri and Pasai Cluster in Sibu as well as its sub-cluster, Tangap in Subis.

The clusters which registered additional positive cases yesterday were Jalan Ho Pin in Samarahan (up by one case), Jalan Muhibbah in Betong (9), Emperoh Jambu in Kuching (38), Sungai Bakong in Meradong (5), Jalan Green in Kuching (3), Gelong in Kapit (27), and Pasai in Sibu (2).

Meanwhile, SDMC said the police had issued nine compound notices yesterday; four from Kuching, Padawan (3), Bintulu (1) and Miri (1) for breaches of the Standard Operating Procedure imposed during the CMCO period.
