MIRI: Kita Jaga Miri (KJM) team thanks Mirians, particularly local businesses for supporting its cause with donation of food and personal protective equipment for frontliners and those adversely impacted by the pandemic.

KJM was formed in January by four Rotary Club of Miri Oil Town (RCMOT), Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers Miri Branch (Sheda Miri), The Advocates Association of Sarawak Miri branch (AAS Miri) and the Federation of Miri Division Chinese Association (FCAY).

“These past two weeks, we received bread products from Paris Levain, dry and cooked food from FeedMe, as well as other essential food items from local supermarkets for distribution to healthcare personnel at hospital, vaccination centres (PPVs) and quarantine centres (PKRCs); police and Rela manning road blocks and also families affected by the pandemic.

“Even though these businesses are affected by Movement Control Order (MCO), they are still passionate in giving and sharing, inspiring us to keep doing what we are doing,” it said.

To date, KJM has distributed food ration, PPEs and daily necessities to PPVs and PKRCs across Miri besides several areas placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order.

“Though the state is now in the Phase 2 of National Recovery Plan (NRP), we shall continue to help when needed to ease the burden of these people,” it said.
