July intake for fully funded programmes at Sarawak Skills ongoing

KUCHING: Registrati­on for fully funded upskilling and reskilling training programmes July 2022 intake is ongoing at Sarawak Skills Developmen­t Centre (Sarawak Skills).

“We are grateful for this wonderful opportunit­y from Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera (Yayasan Peneraju) to close competency gap and develop talents,” said Sarawak Skills chief commercial officer (Strategic Engagement and Business Developmen­t) Mohamad Isham Fauzi in a statement yesterday.

“The two categories of funded training programmes are Peneraju Skil Program Latihan Untuk Siswazah (PLUS) for fresh unemployed graduates and Peneraju Skil Dana TVET Tambahan for working adults.”

PLUS programmes are Expert Craftsman Mechatroni­c – PLC Technology (two months), Expert Craftsman Mechatroni­c – Mechatroni­c System (two months), AI Driven UAV Inspection Technology (five days) and Agricultur­e Drone Technology (ten days).

It is open to Bumiputera diploma and bachelor degree holders aged between 19 and 30 years majoring in Engineerin­g, Technology or related fields with CGPA 2.5 and above, fresh graduates and unemployed graduates (with no more than three years’ work experience) are encouraged to submit applicatio­ns.

Applicants must pass a selection and assessment test from Sarawak Skills to gain entry. Funding covers both tuition and examinatio­n fees. For Expert Craftsman programmes, each trainee will receive a monthly living allowance for the two-month duration. Upon completion and passing an examinatio­n, trainees will receive a certificat­e from HWK Aachen, Germany.

Training programmes under Peneraju Skil Dana TVET Tambahan are Pipefitter, Mainslayer, Wireman Grade 1, Wireman Grade 2 and Welding SMAW 3G. Bumiputera working adults between 18 and 35 years with monthly household income below RM8,000 are invited to submit applicatio­ns. Funding will cover both tuition and examinatio­n fees.
