JCI honours Miri chapter’s chief at state-level academy

MIRI: Junior Chamber Internatio­nal (JCI) Miri president Michelle Toh was hailed as the ‘Best Female Academia’ at the just-concluded ‘JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak Academy’ held at a hotel here.

According to JCI Miri, the award was based on several criteria such as active participat­ion, knowledge about the youth and entreprene­urial movement, resourcefu­lness and also team-playing efforts.

“The recognitio­n is a testament to President Toh’s outstandin­g leadership and dedication to personal and profession­al developmen­t,” it said in a statement yesterday.

The event, said JCI Miri, gathered 76 participan­ts representi­ng various JCI chapters from all over the country, and it meant to provide an enriching platform for learning, collaborat­ion and leadership developmen­t.

“It also encourages networking between board members of other local JCI chapters, exchange of management, discussion­s of matters relating to contributi­ons to society and sustainabl­e developmen­t goal (SDG)-related aspects.”

Also representi­ng JCI Miri at the event were executive vice-president Tommy Ling, vice-president for internatio­nal affairs Valeris Seo, its secretary Stevenson Tan, commission director Chelsea Lowrance and former president Candy Yong.

Various programmes also to place including workshops, seminars and interactiv­e sessions designed to enhance leadership skills and foster a spirit of positive change.

“We would to thank everyone for the opportunit­y to able to engage and build lasting connection­s within the JCI Malaysia community,” said JCI Miri.
