JCI honours Miri chapter’s chief at state-level academy
MIRI: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Miri president Michelle Toh was hailed as the ‘Best Female Academia’ at the just-concluded ‘JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak Academy’ held at a hotel here.
According to JCI Miri, the award was based on several criteria such as active participation, knowledge about the youth and entrepreneurial movement, resourcefulness and also team-playing efforts.
“The recognition is a testament to President Toh’s outstanding leadership and dedication to personal and professional development,” it said in a statement yesterday.
The event, said JCI Miri, gathered 76 participants representing various JCI chapters from all over the country, and it meant to provide an enriching platform for learning, collaboration and leadership development.
“It also encourages networking between board members of other local JCI chapters, exchange of management, discussions of matters relating to contributions to society and sustainable development goal (SDG)-related aspects.”
Also representing JCI Miri at the event were executive vice-president Tommy Ling, vice-president for international affairs Valeris Seo, its secretary Stevenson Tan, commission director Chelsea Lowrance and former president Candy Yong.
Various programmes also to place including workshops, seminars and interactive sessions designed to enhance leadership skills and foster a spirit of positive change.
