Samsung M’sia unveils the new AI-powered Galaxy S24 Series

KUALA LUMPUR: Samsung Malaysia recently unveiled the new Samsung Galaxy S24 Series, unlocking a new chapter for the mobile device category which is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Series is equipped with Galaxy AI, providing a comprehensive mobile AI experience, powered by both on-device AI developed at Samsung and cloud-based AI, enabled by open collaborations with like-minded industry partners.

“AI is generally best known for its smart assistant feature, chatbot function, and facial recognition,” said Samsung Malaysia in a statement.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Series is targeted to cater for the needs of the youthful audience, especially the likes of Generation MZ, including techsavvy individuals, mobile gaming enthusiasts, and photography and social media lovers.
Generation MZ, a term used in South Korea, refers collectively to the Millennials (born in the early 1980s to early 1990s) and Generation Z (born in the mid1990s to early 2000s).
The new Samsung Galaxy S24 Series will also demonstrate new methods for creating, playing, and completing tasks, as it reveals unexpected ways in which life can be easier, making everything in life more spectacular than before, the statement added.
“We often believe that we are doing things the best way possible. Then something comes along that debunks that status quo, making us say, ‘I cannot believe I used to do that’, and questioning how we ever lived without it,” said Samsung, adding that the Galaxy AI phone could effortlessly capture epic moments of life.
Samsung Malaysia emphasised that the new Galaxy AI comes with more exciting features, such as ‘live translate’, a realtime language translation via call.
No third-party app is needed, and the user can translate or communicate instantly across different languages.
The new smartphone also features ‘chat assist’, which translates incoming messages in real-time across multiple languages.
It enables the user to chat like a local when replying to messages, coupled with style and grammar assistance, tailoring the tone to the situation and effortlessly writing professionally.
Other notable features include the “note assist”, which allows handwriting auto spacing and alignment.
It includes auto format (to restructure notes which can be shared with anyone instantly), and summarising and translation (to summarise important points from notes, for users to refer back to key points or even translate to different languages).
In addition, it also features ‘correct spelling’, where AI recommends the correct spelling or date and time format on the notes, as well as a summary and classification on note cover to categorise notes based on cover (AI suggestive).
Photography enthusiasts will be pleased with the new Samsung Galaxy S24 Series, which features ‘photo assist’ capabilities.
It offers ‘background fill’, which adjusts the angle of images, and generates new background to fill in the gaps around the edges, and object ‘re-composition’, which moves, removes or resizes people and objects, then fills in any gaps in the background.
The new device also offers ‘edit suggestion’, which informs consumers about what AI can do on a particular picture, as well as ‘instant slow-mo’, a feature that smoothly slows down exciting moments.
Last but not least, consumers who enjoy something on social media or the web can directly search for something by drawing a circle around it, without any search terms, made possible with the “circle to search” function.
Also, it provides follow-up questions and advanced results by understanding your search context.
The pre-order promotion for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is available from January 18 until February 6, 2023.
