Sequence 2024, an annual graduation exhibition by the final-year students of First City University College (FCUC), was held at 1 Utama Shopping Centre here from Jan 10 to 14.

With the official launch held on Jan 12, Sequence 2024 distinguished itself from the conventional graduation by celebrating the achievements of the graduating students in an engaging manner, while providing an event platform for the students’ project showcase.

Hosted by the Faculty of Design, Built & Environment, this event featured outstanding projects from graduating students in diverse disciplines such as BA (Honours) in Graphic Design, BA (Hons) Furniture & Product Design, BA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Design, and BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Saw Sor Heoh from First City University College; Director of Genre Associates and Council Member of the Malaysian Institute of Interior Design (MIID) Christine Rowland; and various industry partners were present at the event.

In her welcoming speech, Saw commended the Faculty of Design and Built Environment for orchestrating the 22nd edition of the showcase.

Highlighting the faculty’s commitment to excellence, she highlighted the accolades and achievements earned by the MIID students and faculty members where the team secured the gold, silver and bronze awards in an event held in November last year.

Meanwhile, Christine, in representing MIID, inaugurated the showcase by extending congratulations to the students for their inspiring projects.

“Embrace lifelong learning in order to stay relevant in the industry,” she told the graduates, while sharing her aspirations for First City University College to continue to grow and for MIID to produce quality designers.
