SMK Kapit 2’s success the collective effort of all stakeholders — Jamit

-

The success of SMK Kapit 2 over the years in producing outstanding students in academics and sports is due to the collective efforts of its stakeholders, said Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat.

The Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department said achieving excellence requires the teachers, parents, students and the local community to work with one another in all aspects of education.

“Teachers play a pivotal role in educating their students. Parents also have high expectations and want their children to do well in school.

“Therefore, it is important that all parties play their role towards ensuring the success of the students whether academically or in sports,” he said.

The text of Jamit’s speech was read by Kapit District Council deputy walikota Watson Awan Jalai, who represented the Bukit Goram assemblyman to officiate SMK Kapit 2’s graduation cum awards presentation ceremony, at the school’s hall yesterday.

Also present were the school’s principal Azaman Hailee, Kapit deputy education officer Philip Kelling, and parents of the students.

Jamit in his speech also reminded the students that success can only be achieved through hard work.

“There is no shortcut in life. Your achievement is the result of your commitment and determination. When you succeed, you not only make your parents proud but also your teachers,” he said.

The ceremony saw excellence awards presented to 235 students from Forms 1 to 4, while 193 students in Forms 5 and 6 received their graduation certificate.

Watson, on behalf of Jamit, also announced a grant of RM10,000 for the school to run its activities in the next calendar year.
