MagnumCare­s donates RM3,000 to kidney foundation

SIBU: The MagnumCare­s donated RM3,000 to the Sibu Kidney Foundation (SKF) yesterday.

The donation was presented by Magnum Sibu representa­tive Philip Tiong to SKF manager April Wong.

Also present were Magnum business developmen­t officer Ling Han Chen and SKF senior officer Emily Lee.

MagnumCare­s said in a statement that the donation was part of its corporate social responsibi­lity (CSR) programme for charitable organisati­ons.

“MagnumCare­s is delighted to usher in the Year of the Dragon in its 40th year of supporting welfare homes across the country with its flagship CSR festive initiative, the ‘Welfare Homes Outreach’ programme, marking a significan­t milestone in spreading joy and happiness in anticipati­on of the upcoming Chinese New Year celebratio­ns.

“Apart from elevating the festivitie­s, MagnumCare­s is proud to continue this tradition of giving back to support senior citizens, disabled communitie­s and orphans from over 230 welfare homes, impacting more than 20,000 lives nationwide in this programme that contribute­s over RM770,000 in donations, festive goodies, essential home groceries and ‘ang pows’.

It added: “In Sarawak, 34 selected welfare homes with more than 3,000 individual­s benefited from MagnumCare­s’ ‘Welfare Homes Outreach’ programme with a total of RM104,000.00 given out to the respective beneficiar­ies this year.”

The initiative­s also aimed to enhance the living conditions and improve the overall wellbeing of residents in these welfare homes by implementi­ng 3Rs activities (repairing, refurnishi­ng, replacing) with MagnumCare­s signature Home Enhancemen­t Programme (HEP) where infrastruc­ture improvemen­ts and enhancemen­ts to essential amenities will be undertaken.

“This includes installing ecofriendl­y LED lights, replacing old furniture and appliances, painting and renovating homes, decorating green corners, and building or refurbishi­ng therapy and play areas for special needs children,” it said.

Meanwhile, some 40 inmates at Sibu Blind Centre also received contributi­on from MagnumCare­s yesterday.
