KUCHING: A 65-year-old hawker, Yap Chong Wei, was picked as the first prize winner of the Liansin Trading Sdn Bhd’s Jimmy Contest 6 third draw with a grand prize of a Gintell S5 Super massage chair.

Second prize winner Vic Mary Jane Madulara from Sibu received a dining set, while third-placed winner Ahmad Fauzi Jaafar from Bintulu won himself an Apple iPad.

The prize presentation ceremony for the winners took place at Liansin Trading Sdn Bhd’s premises here, yesterday.

The contest which was separated into four draws had been held quarterly since last July and the third draw of the lucky winners took place in Miri early this month.

Speaking to reporters, first prize winner Yap said he was elated after having been informed of the good news and that he had never won anything in any lucky draw contests before.

“I received a call from an unknown number sometime this month and usually I would not answer such a call, but it just happened that I decided to pick up the call from the contest organiser,” he said, adding that he would make good use of the high-end massage chair.

The first draw took place last July for the contest period from April 1 to June 30, while the second draw was held in October for the contest period from July 1 to Sept 30.

The third draw in January early this year, meanwhile, was for the contest period from Oct 1 to Dec 31, and the last draw in April will be for the contest period from Jan 1 to March 31.

The final draw of the contest, along with the draw for the contest’s grand prize of a Honda HRV 1.5RS leisure luxury vehicle, will take place in Kuching.
