Monster Vicious subdue Todak Legion for Malaysian title

PUCHONG:TeamMonste­rVicious became the Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) event champions in the 2023/2024 Malaysian Esports Championsh­ips held at the Spacerubix, here on Saturday.

Monster Vicious, the 2023 Malaysian E-Sports League (MEL) champions overcame the challenge of Todak Legion 3-1 in the best of five challenge to emerge victorious and claim the RM30,000 cash prize.

Monster Vicious from Selangor was spearheade­d by Muhammad Aiman Mohamad Abas (Aimji), Ed Asyraaf Darwisy Hayy Mohd Farid (Neyun), Muhammad Fath Zikryfikri Ahmad (Zutod), Muhammad Akmal Harith Alias (Igor) and Mohamad Amar Ahmad

Jamalulai (SanMar).

Team Todak Legion who lined up Muhamad Alif Akmal Kamarulzam­an (Rival), Ammar Asyraf Abd Rahman (Martzyyyyy), Muhammad Amy Angelo Erwin (Hazelnut), Fareez Edraki Azhair (Tiktokkk), Irfan Syahmi Mohamad Pin (Joyboyy) and Mohamad Irfan Hakimeee Zamree (Genozz) went home with RM15,000 cash.

Earlier, Kelantan represente­d by Muhmmad Nor Adham Mohd Nor Azizi (Cytusss), Syakir Najmi Saidi (Akirr), Wan Muhammad Fawwaz Wan Azhar (Wazz), Muhammad Harith Haikal Mohd Suffian (Met4l), Muhammad Aqeel Irfan Zaidi (AqeelTzy) and Muhammad Afiq Mohd Nasir (Sya) finished third to collect RM10,000 cash.

Meanwhile, the award for the Most Valuable Player (MPV) which came with a cash prize of RM5,000 was won by Joyboyy from Team Todak Legion while the rookie award which came with RM2,500 cash fell to Igor from Monster Vicious.

Monster Vicious Team skipper Muhammad Aiman said they never expected to win the title because Team Todak Legion are a strong outfit.

The championsh­ips which was organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports through Esports Integrated (ESI) started on Jan 15 and had attracted 114 teams. — Bernama
