Mydin enters MBOR for most paper dragon crafts distributed
SELANGOR: A total of 100,000 paper dragon crafts that were assembled and distributed by Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (Mydin) earned the leading local wholesaler and retailer a spot in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR).
The distribution and installation of the paper dragon crafts took place during the ‘Kongsi Meriah’ Chinese New Year campaign at Mydin USJ branch, Subang Jaya and saw the participation of the local community, customers, employees and nearby school students.
Minister of National Unity Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, who launched the campaign, witnessed the MBOR certificate presentation.
Aaron urged corporate and private companies to emulate the initiatives undertaken by Mydin in fostering unity and harmony in the country’s society.
He said he had collaborated with Mydin Prihatin in identifying and distributing contributions from Mydin’s ‘Bakul Rahmah’ to 500 recipients in Selangor, Melaka, and Johor.
He also hoped that this collaboration would continue to support the ministry’s two main initiatives, namely the distribution of ‘Bakul Rahmah’ aid (RT Cares) and the Community Kitchen programme in all states this year.
In another development, Mydin has collaborated with SPayLater and other strategic partners such as Abbott, Armor All, Blossom, California Scents, Cutie, Darlie, Diapex, Dutch Lady, Energizer, Eveready, F&N, Intimate, Power Root, Premier, and Royal Gold in offering the public various activities throughout the ‘Kongsi Meriah’ Chinese New Year campaign until Feb 24.
Under this campaign, 28 lucky customers who spend a minimum of RM118 in a single receipt at Mydin have the opportunity to win a lion dance performance at their homes.
In addition, customers who create and upload creative and attractive pictures of the paper dragon crafts on Facebook have the chance to win Mydin evouchers worth RM8,800.
To enhance customer savings and promoting cashless payments, Mydin, in collaboration with e-wallet partners like Boost, MCash, Setel, SPayLater and WavPay is offering up to RM8 cashback for using these applications with a minimum purchase of RM88.
“At Mydin, we celebrate harmony and share the joy of any celebration with our loyal customers, hence the various activities and promotions planned throughout this campaign,” said Mydin executive director Ahimmat Mydin.
