SJKC Kiang Hin celebrates new beginning at graduation ceremony

-

SIBU: Lunar New Year is the most significant traditional festival for Chinese people, says Kapitan Soo Teck Kee.

“As we enter the New Year, we leave behind the challenges and setbacks from the past year, anticipating a fresh start with new life, new hopes and new challenges.

“It symbolises bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new, embodying the importance of family reunion,” said Soo at SJKC Kiang Hin’s prize-giving ceremony at the school’s hall here recently.

Soo, who is SJKC Kiang Hin school board chairman, said the graduation ceremony for the sixth-grade students marks the beginning of their learning journey, not its end.

“You are about to embark on a new phase in middle school, which signifies new beginnings and fresh challenges.

“Our sixth graders, I believe are courageous and prepared to face this novel chapter in their academic journey.

“At this new starting point, students should maintain a

positive attitude and mindset, striving for progress. Regardless of the obstacles and difficulties ahead, they can be overcome as long as students uphold a resilient spirit and perseverance to move towards a broader future,” added Soo.

The prize-giving

ceremony, Soo said, was to recognise the excellent achievements in academic and extracurricular activities of the students.

“These awards are meant to acknowledge and encourage students for their outstanding accomplishments. Their

achievements reflect the hard work of our dedicated teachers, to whom we extend the highest respect and gratitude on behalf of the board members.”

Also present at the ceremony was SJKC Kiang Hin principal Ling Ing Kiong.
