MIFF 2024 to host over 20,000 visitors

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Internatio­nal Furniture Fair (MIFF) 2024, scheduled from March 1 to 4, is expected to host over 20,000 visitors from 140 countries and regions.

The fair will take place at the Malaysia Internatio­nal Trade and Exhibition Centre as well as the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.

Informa Markets Malaysia, MIFF 2024’s organiser, said the furniture fair is the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia and would comprise 17 halls spanning 100,000 square metres to showcase exhibitors from Malaysia, China, Hongkong, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, the United States and Vietnam with a diverse range of products and innovative designs.

It added that the MIFF Furniverse App would also be an essential companion for attendees to personalis­e their journey in meeting suppliers and source from thousands of products across the two venues.

In a statement yesterday, MIFF general manager Kelie Lim said MIFF has been in the industry for 30 years, and it is still growing with better content and better experience for attendees.

“This year, we have expanded to 17 halls. The MIFF Furniverse App will enable buyers to make the most of the four days and have an enjoyable and seamless time to experience new products, designs, and trends for newgenerat­ion consumers and make important business connection­s,” she said.

Meanwhile, Muar Furniture Associatio­n president Steve Ong said the associatio­n and the Malaysian furniture industry continue to back MIFF.

“More buyers with significan­t buying power are coming to MIFF, and this is good for business growth.

“As the Furniture City of Malaysia, Muar, we are ready to showcase the newest and wide variety of products to internatio­nal buyers and explore new emerging markets to expand our global footprint,” he said.

This year, the MIFF Furniture Design Competitio­n will also be organised with the theme “ChairVolut­ion: Celebratin­g 30 Years of Innovation and Design” to celebrate its 30th anniversar­y.

In 2023, the four-day event posted a record 19 per cent jump in orders to US$1.21 billion (RM5.78 billion) with 673 exhibitors.

Since 1995, MIFF has achieved cumulative sales of US$18.4 billion (RM87.83 billion) and welcomed 182,000 buyers from 140 countries and regions. — Bernama
