Swinburne Sarawak offers world-class Australian education
KUCHING: Students seeking to pursue a world-class Australian education at a fraction of the cost are encouraged to apply for Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus’ upcoming intake from Feb 26 for its foundation, diploma, degree and master programmes.
Swinburne Sarawak is the only full-fledged international branch campus of Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.
Its programmes are undifferentiated from the Melbourne campus in terms of curriculum and learning outcomes, earning students the same testamurs and qualifications as their Australian peers.
Swinburne Sarawak offers programmes in diverse areas of study, including business, computing, design, engineering, quantity surveying, science, arts, media and education.
The programmes are recognised by professional bodies with industrial certification, equipping students with the knowledge and skills required for prospective employment opportunities.
Last year, the university introduced four new programmes, namely the Diploma of Digital Media Design, Diploma of Information Technology, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Diploma of Quantity Surveying.
A range of scholarships, bursaries and financial aid options are available to students seeking support on financial needs. These include internal merit scholarships and bursaries offered by the university, from foundation to postgraduate levels of study, in addition to those offered by external providers, such as Yayasan Sarawak.
One of the options for financial aid is the Yayasan Sarawak BP40 Bursary Scheme, a special bursary scheme for eligible Sarawakian Bumiputera students that allows them to enrol into their preferred programmes at foundation, diploma or degree levels with subsidised tuition fees.
For students under the BP40 scheme, the total tuition fees at Swinburne Sarawak throughout the duration of their studies are as affordable as tuition fees at any public universities (IPTA) in Malaysia.
Swinburne Sarawak has strong industry partnerships and collaboration, and its undergraduate programmes are designed to ensure that students have the opportunity to experience valuable hands-on industry practice through the university’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL).
This WIL approach, in the form of placements, internships or industry-linked projects, empowers students with the confidence, skills, real industry experience and other a ributes that are crucial for their entry into the workplace.
Furthermore, students who are interested in gaining exposure abroad can explore transfer or exchange options during any semester.
These experiences are not only enriching for students personally and academically but can also bolster their employment prospects even before they graduate.
