One Academy celebrates 33 years of creative ingenuity
KUALA LUMPUR: The One Academy recently celebrated its 33rd anniversary, marking not only three decades of excellence, but also the significant inauguration of its new campus at Leisure Commerce Square in Bandar Sunway.
Hosted at the new campus, the celebration unfolded on the rooftop, bringing together alumni, staff, faculty and board members, renowned artists, as well as the founder himself, Tatsun Hoi.
The event was made even more special by the presence of Disney legend and Oscar winnerGlen Keane, who earlier in the day had conducted a masterclass session with the academy’s students and alumni.
Keane is known for animating and illustrating iconic characters in Disney hit movies such as ‘Tarzan’, ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Tangled’, ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Pocahontas’.
The One Academy presented a video tracing its journey from its inception as a training centre in 1991 to its current status as a renowned institution for art and design education. Founded by Tatsun Hoi and a panel of creative leaders to address the shortage of trained creative professionals, the academy is known for its ‘Masters Train Masters’ philosophy, producing internationally recognized graduates who leave a mark on the global creative industry.
