UDA channels RM70,000 towards buying school supplies for 200 school students

-

UDA Holdings Berhad through its ‘UDA Cares: Back to School 2024’ programme, has channelled aid to purchase school supplies for 200 primary school students residing here and in the UDA business area.

Its president and chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Salem Kailany said each student will receive assistance in the form of uniforms, shoes, bags and stationery set worth RM350 through the allocation of zakat contributions, amounting to RM70,000.

He said all students were taken to shop for their schooling needs, and later treated to lunch.

“UDA always cares and is committed to contribute back and improve the well-being of the community, especially in the UDA business area.

“The programme is carried out with the aim of providing the schooling needs to eligible students and to ease the burden of parents.

Hopefully, this donation can also help students go through the new school session, more comfortably and with enthusiasm in order to succeed in the future,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Mohd Salem said as a leader in real estate development and asset management, including investment and property management, hospitality and facility management, UDA – an agency under the purview of the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development – always takes proactive steps by implementing corporate social responsibility programmes.

He said these efforts are in line with UDA’s new branding principle ‘L.I.F.E.’, which stands for ‘Legacy, Integrated, Finesse and Enrich’, thus translating its commitment in supporting the country’s and society’s sustainability aspirations.

Yesterday’s programme was also attended by UDA investment and property management senior vicepresident Mohd Nazri Jamiran, Angsana Johor Bahru Mall CEO Imran Salleh, UDA Group head of corporate communications division Radziah Mohamed Fadzil, as well as UDA staff who also helped students to make their purchases.
