Power Root joins forces with national cycling king in pursuit for Olympic gold
KUALA LUMPUR: Power Root Berhad’s delectable and nutritious chocolate malt beverage, Oligo, is aligning forces with national track cycling champion Dato Azizulhasni Awang, who is also known as The Pocket Rocketman, in a shared pursuit of Malaysia’s inaugural Olympic gold medal.
In acknowledgement for Azizulhasni’s resilient spirit and unwavering commitment in track cycling, Oligo has appointed him as their brand ambassador, symbolising the brand’s dedication in providing energy and nutrients to consumers.
Under Oligo’s mantra ‘Max out your potential’, the collaboration aims to witness The Pocket Rocketman harness his formidable power in competition, fortified by Oligo’s nutritional enhancement NutriMax.
“Dato Azizulhasni is a resilient national athlete who always moves forward. After securing bronze in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, and silver in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, we hope to see him clinch the first Olympic gold medal for Malaysia this year,” said Power Root co-chairman Tengku Dato Setia Putra Alhaj Tengku Azman Shah.
In a parallel philanthropic endeavour, Power Root has donated RM250,000 to the Media Prima Palestinian Humanitarian Fund, aiming to provide financial aid and raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Oligo will continue to support the cause by contributing 50 sen for every purchase of Oligo powder products, and 10 sen for each ready-to-drink (RTD) Oligo product.
“Through this collaboration, our company hopes to channel aid to Gaza residents and express our solidarity with them,” Tengku Dato Setia Putra Alhaj said of the company’s intent.
He added the partnership between Azizulhasni and Oligo serves as an inspiration for Malaysians to pursue excellence, develop tenacity and adopt a healthy lifestyle. He highlighted Azizulhasni’s never-give-up attitude, citing instances like cycling through injury during a keirin event in 2011 and his fearless demeanour at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
To celebrate Azizulhasni’s achievements, Oligo will unveil a new packaging, featuring the world champion. The packaging, which will be available in powdered and RTD forms, will be distributed in supermarkets and retail outlets nationwide.
The range includes 30g sachets, 950g refill packs, instant cups, 240ml drink cans, and the new 200ml Tetra pack, which are designed for those leading active lifestyles, ensuring Oligo’s freshness and food integrity onthe-go.
