Azam’s Youth Development Commi„ee chairman Ariff Irwani Azahari presented a standing fan to the NGO as a token of support during a meeting held at Yayasan Dee Hati’s headquarters near Reservoir Park here recently.

“This meaningful and productive meeting is an opportunity for Azam to develop new programmes focused on support systems, as well as to engage with new stakeholders in the field of internal health, with a particular emphasis on mental well-being,” said Azam in a statement.

“As an NGO specialising in development communication, this enables Azam to disseminate information to the public regarding centres they can visit for such support systems initiatives.”

According to Yayasan Dee Hati co-founder and general manager Nazwan Taufik, the Dee Hati Centre is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia that aims to provide grief, bereavement and trauma support in a holistic approach.

The establishment, he said, was a tribute to the late Nur Diyana Zuraimi, who was known for her altruistic spirit and community commitment.

Dee Hati is currently conducting a ‘Bereavement Home Visit Programme’ in collaboration with the National Cancer Society of Sarawak, in providing support to cancer patients receiving palliative care, as well as to their families.

Additionally, the organisation offers various support programmes including awareness sessions, peer support sessions, and ‘Grief-Informed Yoga’.

The meeting was also a„ended by Azam Young Souls chairman Fadzim Othman and four secretariat members, Dee Hati representatives, and Sentosa Hospital psychiatrist Dr Nuriwana Abdul Taib.

The foundation operates Mondays to Saturdays, 9am to 5pm daily. For more information, visit its Facebook page ‘Dee Hati Centre for Grief, Bereavement and Trauma’.
