New BYD Seal EV launched at CityOne Megamall
KUCHING: Sime Darby Motors and Regas EV Auto Sdn Bhd has launched a new electric vehicle (EV), the BYD Seal, available in Premium and Performance AWD variants, with price starting from RM183,300 and RM203,300, respectively.
Kuching south mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng, who officiated at the launch here yesterday, hailed BYD Seal as ‘contributing to the overall goal of promoting eco-friendly transportation options and reducing our carbon footprint’.
“Furthermore, it is important to recognise that this initiative aligns perfectly with Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to fostering a more sustainable and environmentally-conscious society.
“As a nation, we are actively working towards our climate commitments, and electric mobility is part of this journey”, he said in his speech for the event at BYD showroom in CityOne Megamall here yesterday.
Dealer principal of Regas EV Auto SdnBhd, Brandon Juan, remarked: “BYD is dedicated to creating a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come.”
Also present yesterday was Regas EV Auto SdnBhd marketing manager Gabrielyn Tay.
BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division general manager Liu Xueliang, meanwhile, said the BYD Seal was designed for convenience and efficiency.
“It has distinctive value proposition as a high-technology electric sedan that offers significantly greater space for environmentally-conscious families and individuals.
“The BYD Seal lays an innovative Advanced e-Platform 3.0, positioning it as a trailblazer in safety and performance.
“BYD Seal stretches 4800mm long, 1875mm wide and 1460mm tall on a 2920mm wheelbase, offering both a visually striking presence and a spacious, functional interior with 400L of boot space and 50L under the bonnet”, he said in a statement issued in connection with the launch here.
The BYD Seal features a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen complemented by BYD intelligent cockpit system which integrates with the BYD App. This includes premium HIFI Dynaudio sound system and a PM2.5 filtration system.
Liu added that the BYD Seal was equipped with nine airbags, advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) system and a high resolution 360 camera.
“The BYD Seal’s diverse wheel options promise a superior driving experience, catering to the preferences of every discerning driver.
“The intelligent Torque Adaptation Control (iTAC) system ensures optimal performance in varying driving conditions, while the 50:50 front and rear axle load distribution guarantees a balanced and responsive driving experience,” he added.
The BYD Seal delivers an exceptional New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) driving range up to 650km, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds as well as its fast charging capability up to 150 kW.
Colour options include Arctic Blue (exclusive to the Performance variant), Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey and Aurora White (available for Premium).
