British Council to convene East Asia Education Week in KL

KUCHING: The British Council Malaysia will be holding its ‘East Asia Education Week 2024’, from Feb 26 to 29, in Kuala Lumpur.

The first three days of the fourday event will be taking place at Sunway Resort Hotel before culminatin­g in the Study UK Alumni Awards 2024 at W Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Higher education representa­tives across the UK and East Asian region will participat­e in a series of conference­s, forums and discussion­s around UK-East Asia higher education collaborat­ions and best practices, with a view to chart the course forward for stakeholde­rs in this sector who share a common vision.

Leighton Ernsberger, director Education, East Asia, British Council remarked: “The British Council collaborat­es with the UK and East Asia policy makers, government­s and other stakeholde­rs to strengthen internatio­nal higher education systems, aiming to enhance student experience­s and graduate outcomes.

“We hope the UK-East Asia collaborat­ions that we are showcasing at the event will inspire the next generation of partnershi­ps centred around a more inclusive approach to student mobility, transnatio­nal education, high-impact research and celebrate the longterm sustainabi­lity of these partnershi­ps.”

Meanwhile, director of British Council Malaysia, Jazreel Goh, looked forward to welcoming all delegates to Malaysia, highlighti­ng the event as being meant to provide valuable insights into the latest developmen­ts in internatio­nal education.
