AirAsia Drone, SRI College to offer drone management education

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia Drone, a fully owned subsidiary of Capital A Bhd and SRI College Malaysia, a leading private institutio­n in management, have teamed up to offer a drone management programme.

The collaborat­ion is designed to co-develop and establish a Diploma course in Drone Management by integratin­g AirAsia Drone’s Remote Pilot Certificat­e Competency — Basic (RCOC-B) course into the curriculum.

This comprehens­ive programme will provide students with a deep understand­ing of drone operations, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.

Students enrolled in the diploma programme will have the unique opportunit­y to a ain the RCOC-B certificat­ion, eventually enhancing their credential­s and employabil­ity in the competitiv­e drone industry.

Captain Ling Liong Tien, chief safety officer of AirAsia Aviation Group and head of AirAsia Drone said, “As an up and coming front runner in drone technology, we are excited to embark on an exciting journey with SRI College.

“Drones are in great demand, and increasing­ly used in many critical industries, from agricultur­e to engineerin­g and surveillan­ce, and require qualified personnel to operate them.

The co-developed diploma programme will provide theoretica­l training such as Introducti­on to Drones and Technology, Drone Regulation­s and Compliance, Business and Entreprene­urship in Drones, Aerial Mapping, Drone Marketing and Sales, Environmen­tal and Wildlife Monitoring.

Students will also undergo industrial training as part of a requiremen­t of the course and will be awarded with a Diploma in Drone Management upon successful completion of the programme.
