Malaysian talents recognised at MFMPA 2023 ceremony

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Fashion, Modeling & Pageant Awards (MFMPA) 2023 unfolded in a dazzling spectacle at the Malaysian Tourism Centre (MaTiC) here, marking another chapter in its journey of innovation and excellence within Malaysia’s fashion, modeling, and pageantry industries.

The stage came alive with performanc­es from beloved Malaysian artistes whose vibrant energy echoed through the venue, while catwalks were graced by the presence of Malaysian fashion icons who effortless­ly wowed the audience with their creations, blending tradition and modernity in a mesmerisin­g display.

MFMPA founder Dr Jason Hee said true to its mission, MFMPA is committed to honouring only the most deserving talents, ensuring that credibilit­y and integrity remain at the forefront of its selections.

“Through strategic partnershi­ps and initiative­s, such as enhanced mentorship programmes and deeper industry collaborat­ions, the awards aim to propel Malaysian talent to new heights on the global stage, solidifyin­g its role as a pivotal force in shaping the country’s creative landscape.

“I encourage everyone involved in these industries to join hands and use our creativity to showcase Malaysia to the world. Let’s share our stories, inspire others, and invite people from all over to experience the magic of Malaysia,” he said.

He said the choice of the eagle as the symbol for MFMPA symbolised strength, majesty and excellence, and represente­d soaring achievemen­ts, noble endeavours, and the pursuit of greatness.

“The eagle symbol encapsulat­es the spirit of ambition, vision and success, reflecting the lofty standards and aspiration­s of the awards.

“From seasoned profession­als to aspiring talents, MFMPA 2023 welcomed participan­ts from all background­s, fostering a diverse and inclusive platform reflecting the rich tapestry of Malaysia’s fashion landscape,” Hee added.

The event served as a beacon of excellence, inspiring individual­s to pursue their passions and make a lasting impact on the industry.

In essence, awards epitomised the collective effort and dedication of a dynamic ecosystem of stakeholde­rs, united in their pursuit of excellence, innovation and inclusivit­y within Malaysia’s thriving fashion and entertainm­ent sphere.

The 2024 edition continued this legacy, promising even greater strides in shaping the future of Malaysia’s creative industries.

Among those in the MFMPA organising committees were Dato Kamil Othman, Prof Dato Dr Shawn Loh, Datuk Seri Azmam Ujang, Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah, Dato Lawrence Chan, Datin Winnie Loo, Amber Chia, Carrie Lee, Winnie Kok, Datin Maylene Yong, Teresa Dian Chew, Carol Lee, and Dato Nancie Foo.

Esteemed partners including Tourism Malaysia and the National Film Developmen­t Corporatio­n (Finas) continued to lend their unwavering support, indicating a commitment to fostering talent developmen­t and promoting the industry on a broader scale.
