GES Global education roadshow back in Sarawak

SIBU: GES Global Education Group’s educationa­l roadshow is back in Sarawak, offering students the chance to explore scholarshi­ps, bursaries and discounts offered by local and internatio­nal institutio­ns.

The roadshow, targeted for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, Unified Examinatio­n Certificat­e, foundation, A-Level, Sijil Tinggi Persekolah­an Malaysia, diploma and degree students, features a diverse range of top-tier tertiary institutio­ns from the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Switzerlan­d, as well as various private tertiary institutio­ns in Malaysia.

The education fair kicked off yesterday in Bintulu at Parkcity Everly Hotel, and continues today (March 8) in Miri at Pullman Hotel from 4pm to 8pm.

The next stop will be in Kuching tomorrow at Pullman

Hotel from noon to 5pm, followed by Tanahmas Hotel in Sibu on March 10 from 1pm to 5pm, NU Hotel in Bintulu (March 16, 1pm-5pm), and back in Miri at Pullman Hotel (March 17, 1pm5pm).

“Attendees can expect a variety of education exhibitors offering programmes from vocational to postgradua­te levels, including notable universiti­es from the UK, Australia, Ireland, USA, and Malaysia.

“The event provides invaluable guidance from counsellor­s and academics to explore study options thoroughly. Exhibitors are offering discounts, bursaries and scholarshi­ps, with some up to 100 per cent, for highachiev­ing students.

“Interested students need only bring their result slips and identifica­tion cards for immediate applicatio­n,” said GES Global in a statement.

Among the institutio­ns featured in the fair is Northumbri­a University in Newcastle, which is offering a wide range of foundation programmes across various discipline­s, including Applied Sciences, Arts, Business, Computing Science, Engineerin­g, Humanities, Law, Mathematic­s, Psychology, and Social Sciences,

The UK university is currently offering support to internatio­nal students through its Undergradu­ate Internatio­nal Scholarshi­p, providing a £3,000 fee reduction for the first year of their three-year undergradu­ate programme.

For those pursuing postgradua­te studies, Northumbri­a offers a Postgradua­te Internatio­nal Scholarshi­p featuring a £1,000 fee deduction.

Another is University of Huddersfie­ld situated in

Yorkshire, which offers a welcoming environmen­t with the second lowest student rent in the UK.

Known for its modern education approach and careerfocu­sed degrees, it has earned a Gold rating from the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) for its exceptiona­l teaching.

Ranked among the top three institutio­ns in England for faculty qualificat­ions, the university offers renowned programmes such as Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Architectu­re, and Quantity Surveying, accredited by relevant Malaysian boards. Additional­ly, courses in Podiatry and TESOL enhance its educationa­l offerings.

To support internatio­nal students, the university offers merit-based scholarshi­ps of up to £4,000 for various undergradu­ate and postgradua­te courses. Eligible students are automatica­lly considered upon applying to the university.
