BCCK’s ‘Juh Sungkei’ Ramadan buffet returns with improved selections

KUCHING: ‘Juh Sungkei di BCCK’ is coming back to Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) for this Ramadan season, running from this March 10 and April 7, from 6pm to 10pm.

BCCK is gearing up to offer a culinary experience like no other, featuring an array of delectable dishes that celebrate the diversity of both Malaysian and internatio­nal cuisines, said a press release.

The Ramadhan Buffet at BCCK has become a tradition for many, known for its commitment to providing an exceptiona­l dining experience during this blessed month.

BCCK chief executive officer Eric van Piggelen expressed his excitement about the return of the Ramadhan Buffet, stating: “We are honored to once again welcome our guests to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan with us. Our team was extremely excited to curate a memorable dining experience that reflects the values of this blessed month.”

“We look forward to creating lasting memories with our patrons.

“Also, we take pride in announcing our commitment to sustainabl­e and responsibl­e practices through an innovative food waste management initiative during our Ramadan buffet dinners.

“Organic waste generated during the Ramadan buffet dinners will be collected separately and sent for composting. As part of our commitment to social responsibi­lity, we are in the hope to bring joy and support to the lives of children from Rumah Kanak-Kanak Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah.

“Specially prepared BCCK Ramadhan goodies for the breaking of fast and cash vouchers for their use during the 2024 academic year will be distribute­d to the children personally by the Senior Management Team of BCCK,” he added.

This year, the menu offers a wide range of selections, ranging from local appetizers to desserts such as Sarawak ‘umai’ obor-obor, roti canai with dhall curry; plain fish curry, Mongolian BBQ with shredded vegetables, lamb fajitas with capsicum, onion & tomato salsa, mee sapi, nyonya asam tilapia in kawah, roasted whole lamb, braised Sze Chuan beef and chicken with yam in kawah.

Diners will also be served with BCCK homemade Margherita pizza, Hong Kong steamed dim sum, spaghetti Aglio Olio and an assortment of sweet desserts like assorted tartlets, bubur sum-sum pandan, classic crème brulee, ice fruit cocktail, apam balik and cotton candy.

The buffet voucher is priced from RM50nett for online booking at www.bcck.org.my/ promotions, while walk-ins are priced at RM120nett for adult and RM60nett per child (5-12 years).

Corporate clients have the option of purchasing open dated or fixed dated vouchers.

Open dated vouchers are priced at RM110nett (adult) and RM90nett (children aged 5-12 years), whereas fixed dated vouchers are priced at RM90 nett (adult) and RM50nett (children aged 5-12 years).

Reservatio­ns are highly recommende­d to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience.

BCCK is certified halal by Sarawak Islamic Affairs Department (JAIS) and has certificat­ion in ISO 22000:2005 Food Management Systems, Malaysian Standard 1480:2007 Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) System.

Its facilities provide for all diners from all background­s from ample hassle-free parking and ambient dining space.

Surau is at Level 1 for guests who want to perform Maghrib prayers.
