Censuria in tie-up with Cinda to secure RM1 bln for merger deals
LUMPUR: Censuria Capital Sdn Bhd (Censuria), a private equity firm registered with the Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC), has joined forces with Cinda Plunkett International Equity Management Ltd (Cinda), an affiliate of China’s largest stateowned asset management firm China Cinda Asset Management Co Ltd, to raise RM1 billion for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions in Malaysia.
This collaboration marks a significant partnership aimed at advancing investment opportunities in the country. Leveraging Censuria’s expertise in private investment in public equity (PIPE) transactions and M&A deals, along with Cinda’s commitment to strategic investments, this partnership aims to foster growth opportunities for middleand micro-cap publicly-listed companies in Malaysia.
Both Censuria and Cinda will utilise a sophisticated feeder fund structure targeting potential family offices, high net worth individuals, and investing institutions in Hong Kong and the broader Greater China region.
Cinda has expressed its intention to raise up to RM1 billion through the feeder fund to advance Censuria’s investment objectives.

Marco and Lu represented their respective organisations at the recent signing ceremony, witnessed by Censuria managing partner Lau Chia En, Cinda managing director and chief investment officer Jialin Liu, Cinda managing director Sun Yanan, as well as Yontz Yap and Sanders Poon, the chief representatives of Zorya Global Capital, Cinda’s sole advisor in Malaysia.
