MSU College offers the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology to those who are interested in scientific discoverie­s and medical research in order to nurture future healthcare front-liners, notably as Medical Laboratory Technologi­sts.

It is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the healthcare field worldwide, and students who choose this path can find a variety of work opportunit­ies in numerous industries such as hospitals, clinics, public health laboratori­es, pharmaceut­ical or chemical industries, biotechnol­ogy companies, veterinary clinics, research laboratori­es, transplant and blood donor centers and fertility clinics.

They play a crucial role in the healthcare system, even though they work behind the scenes.

Though we can’t see them in the front lines, but soundlessl­y they have made enormous contributi­on to the fight against this deadly disease.

At MSU College, the programme is designed to provide students with well-balanced programmes that include academic knowledge and hands-on experience in order to build the right and skilled workforce to fulfill the ever-increasing need for medical lab technologi­sts and technician­s in the healthcare industry.

Students learn how to explore and diagnose the various components of illness and disease prevention. As part of this programme, students will also learn how to handle advanced lab equipment and execute precise medical laboratory tests.

Students will be exposed to a holistic learning experience, to build soft skills and all the necessary skills that required for a profession­al medical lab technologi­st. The curriculum combines the knowledge of integrated education, health and education science lab.

The three-year programme aims to produce Medical Laboratory Technologi­stswho are competent, skillful and capable to meet the human capital needs of the country.

Graduates of this programme can also pursue a variety of medical careers. The impact of technologi­cal advancemen­ts has resulted in a more extensive range of career opportunit­ies for those interested in pursuing this programme.

Upon completion the diploma, students may proceed to a bachelor programme at Management and Science University (MSU) through the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences (FHLS) or Internatio­nal Medical School (IMS).

Another opportunit­y for students is the progressio­n to the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)programme offered through IMS either in Shah Alam campus or in MSU offshore campus in Bangalore, India.

MSU College is also MSU APEL Centre for potential candidates to take the APEL Aptitude Test as the nonconvent­ional pre-qualificat­ion for entry into higher studies, in which MSU currently offers APEL A and APEL C at T-3 (Certificat­e), T-4 (Diploma), T-6 (Bachelor’s degree), and T-7 (Master’s degree) levels.
