PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Human Resources (Kesuma) will host the Asean Green Jobs Forum 2024 this April, in collaboration with the Australian government through the Aus4Asean Digital Transformation and Future Skills Initiative, The Asia Foundation and the Asean Secretariat.

In a statement yesterday, Kesuma said that the Aseanlevel forum, scheduled on April 24 and 25 at EQ Hotel Kuala Lumpur, meant to foster the development of green jobs to align with the region’s inclusive economic development needs and sustainable environmental goals.

The ministry, through the Social Security Organisation (Socso), would also host the MYFutureJobs Green Job Fair 2024, offering 3,000 job opportunities from selected companies.

“Kesuma invites all job seekers to attend the programme on April 25, 26 and 27, 2024, at Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur. This programme targets job-seekers from various categories and all segments of society,” it said.

In collaboration with TalentCorp, the ministry would also conduct the Green Skills Fair at the same venue in conjunction with the MYFutureJobs Green Job Fair 2024.

The programme would involve ministries and government agencies, industries, academia, and non-governmental organisations, and feature a range of exciting activities, including exhibitions related to green skills.

“The inaugural event focusing on green jobs underscores the ministry’s commitment to empowering green jobs and a just transition, in line with Malaysia’s upcoming chairmanship of Asean in 2025.

“Green jobs or skills consist of expertise and knowledge in clean technology, resource management and sustainable practices. — Bernama
