Sweeter with age

I ONLY found the love of my life at 52. How is it that I find love sweeter now?

My first impression told me that this was the man for me. When we first met, I could feel the chemistry between us. We could talk for hours and felt very comfortable with each other. We were not pretentious and we had no ego.

I know why I want a partner and what I want in him. I feel happy whenever I am with him. We discuss our needs and purpose in life openly and honestly. Both of us have the same goal, that is, to love each other and be healthy and happy till we are old and grey.

I am wiser now, more mature emo- tionally, tolerant, patient and understanding. We give each other space and freedom to conduct our own business and recreation activities.

Also, my rule of thumb is that my partner must give me financial security. That was why we gave each other a six-month “probation period” initially. If I was not happy, or felt emotionally and financially insecure by then, I would not continue the relationship.

We have been together for another 14 months.

We are now an item and will be together as long as God allows us. Yes, we love each other and because love comes to me at this age, I treasure every moment that we have together. I count my blessings every day and hope my story will encourage others who want to find true love.
