Learning for employability

Employers look for qualified people who have the technical skills and the ability to communicate, work in teams and the ability to learn, develop and adapt. Exposure to the real world enables graduates to apply knowledge and skills immediately upon employment. In the course of their study at APU, students undertake projects that mirror actual projects carried out in the industry.

Technology-enabled learning environment

APU offers constant structured use of technology as a learning and management tool that improves a student’s ability to handle real-life work and career expectations.

APU’s student-centric applications such as the Webspace portal, Online Courseware Community, Student Project Management System (PAGOL) and other online feedback systems facilitate communication and collaboration as well as access to course materials, assessments, projects and other information.

APU has received various research and development grants from the Malaysian Government. The institution had developed innovative projects such as the Moodle ERP, a suite of plug-ins that extends open source education system Moodle, iShield, iSMART and C.A.R.P.E.T.

The outputs from these innovations are being adopted by several countries, including the UK, the United States, Thailand, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

The APIIT Education Group received the Prime Minister’s Award for Export Excellence (Services) and Industry Excellence in 2010.
